Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect in a session with you?
Sessions are spacious, collaborative, and deeply attuned to your unique experience. We might talk, pause for reflection, explore body sensations or imagery, or notice how different parts of you are showing up. I’ll hold space with care — and also gently challenge you when needed — to support meaningful growth and integration.
What kinds of clients do you work with?
I work with adults navigating transitions, trauma, addiction recovery (or loving someone who struggles), relationship challenges, burnout, existential questioning, and a desire for deeper self-understanding. Many of my clients identify as sensitive, creative, or introspective and are seeking therapy that is both grounded and transformative.
Do you offer virtual or in-person therapy?
I offer virtual therapy (via a secure video platform). I do not offer in person therapy sessions at this time.
Why 60 minutes instead of 50?
While the traditional "therapy hour" is often 50 minutes, I offer slightly longer sessions to allow time for deeper exploration and regulation — especially when working somatically or with parts. This extended time supports the type of therapy I practice and gives us space to slow down, reconnect with the body, and integrate what's arising in a grounded way.
What is your rate? Do you take insurance?
My practice is primarily private pay to promote greater flexibility and individualized care. I have limited availability for insurance and I offer sliding scale private pay pricing to promote greater access to services.
I recommend checking with your insurance provider to see if they reimburse for therapy with an LMHC or LPCC.
How do I access sliding scale pricing?
I hold a limited number of sliding scale spots, prioritized for those with marginalized identities or financial need. If cost is a barrier, feel free to reach out and we can explore options or referrals together.
Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for therapy?
Yes — therapy is often an eligible expense. You can use your HSA or FSA debit card, or submit receipts for reimbursement depending on your provider’s rules.
What is a superbill?
A superbill is a special receipt I can provide that you submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. It includes your diagnosis and billing codes.
What if I want to switch from insurance to private pay later?
You’re welcome to transition to private pay at any time if you’d like more flexibility, privacy, or a different structure. We can talk together about what makes the most sense for your needs and goals.
How do I get started?
If you're interested in working together, please fill out the contact form on my website or email me at rdemolinacounseling@gmail.com with your name, contact info, and a brief description of what you're seeking support for. I’ll follow up with next steps or add you to my waitlist.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full fee, with exceptions made for emergencies.
