Anxiety Therapy
Finding steadiness in the midst of uncertainty.
Sometimes anxiety shows up as constant worry or difficulty relaxing. Other times it feels like being stuck, unmotivated, overwhelmed, or unsure of what to do next. Many things we experience in life can create a feeling of anxiety - a difficult relationship, a major life change, questions about purpose and direction, or simply trying to manage living in a world that can feel hard to understand.
You might be experiencing:
Persistent anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm
Feeling stuck, unmotivated, or disconnected from yourself
Difficulty managing emotions or tolerating uncertainty
Loneliness or a longing for deeper connection
Questions about your purpose, identity, or direction
A strong sense that something needs to change, but difficulty knowing how to begin
Therapy offers a chance to slow down, understand your emotional experience, and explore what may be contributing to your anxiety. I frequently work with individuals who are insightful about their inner world, but struggling to understand exactly what’s causing their anxiety, or how to manage it more effectively. The root cause and manifestation of anxiety is different for everyone, but within the container of the therapy session, we can begin to understand and shift your experience.
We might work on:
Tools for emotional regulation and stress management
The deeper patterns and experiences underlying your anxiety
Self-awareness and self-compassion
Becoming more grounded and more comfortable with uncertainty
Moving out of mind chatter and into the body
Clarity about your needs, values, and direction
Therapy is not only about reducing symptoms. It is my hope that our work will help you develop a more trusting relationship with yourself and access to a more regulated nervous system. If you’d like to work together, scroll down to learn more about my approach and reach out to connect.
Toward greater ease and clarity
How We Might Work Together
-
Relational Therapy
We build rapport and trust, so our sessions feel like a calm, steady place to work through anxiety and practice regulation.
-
Psychodynamic Exploration
We explore how your history, relationships, and core beliefs contribute to your anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling stuck.
-
Somatic Awareness
You learn to recognize how anxiety and stress show up in your body. Gentle attention to physical sensations and nervous system responses can build a greater sense of grounding and steadiness.
-
IFS-Informed Parts Work
We work to understand the different parts of you that may contribute to worry, self-criticism, or uncertainty. As we connect with those parts, we will learn how they protect you and how to approach them with curiosity and compassion.
-
ACT & CBT
We develop practical strategies for working with anxious thoughts and stress, and for taking meaningful steps towards your personal values, even when uncertainty is present.
-
Earth-Based Psychotherapy
Sensory awareness, nature-based imagery, and personal rituals involving the natural world can support presence and stability during stressful periods.
